DataBrowser — analyzing your data could not be easier

  • The chart engine offers standard types of charts such as line, bar, stacked, pie, bubble, and network diagrams. Other types of charts can also be added.

The axis grouping enables the optimal visualisation of large amounts of data. The readability is significantly improved.

With the chartzoom, a chart with large amounts of data can be viewed in detail.

The chart automatically adapts to changes in the workbook filters and groupings.

  • The representation as a pivot table compresses the data, displays it in a hierarchical structure, and provides an optimal overview of the data — even with large amounts of data.

With the “drag and drop” function and context menus, changes can be quickly and easily made to the presentation, the group structure, or the data.

Through integrated undo/redo functions, works steps are not lost and can be reversed quickly with a single click.

  • Using the wizard, you can create your prompts, which can then be saved as an individual workbook.

The guided sequence of operations ensures that all necessary elements are included. Even occasional users can work with the data and perform analysis without a great deal of effort.

During the creation, the table preview displays the state of the prompts in order to increase the speed and accuracy.

Many other expert functions such as the configuration of data objects, the deposit of arithmetic formulas, change markers, and sums and ratio formats for groups are also easy to set up using the wizard.

  • With the extensive filtering functions, you can define which portion of the data should refer to your prompt. Limit your report to a certain period or a defined range of products in order to perform the reports more quickly and increase the clarity.

Multi- and single-select filters specify whether you filter through individual or any number of elements.

With fixed and variable filters, you can define data areas for analysis that can be can only be changed by users in certain areas upon release.

Several filters are automatically hierarchically linked so that "wrong" or senseless filter combinations are excluded.

With the Data Browser from marketoolz, you can create tables and charts directly from the database. The DataBrowser provides individual, systematic analysis of multidimensional corporate data.

Without explicit knowledge of a databank language (e.g. SQL), large amounts of data are clearly displayed, and prompts are stored and organised. The web-based application can be launched in a browser and is available from any Internet-enabled computer. Exporting the data to Excel, CSV, or other office applications is possible at any time.

Take advantage of the flexibility of the DataBrowser for the individual ad-hoc analysis of your data!

The most common chart types available are customised according to your CI requirements. This will give your reports, presentations, or documents just the "look and feel" you need without you having to rework them.

In addition, colour values are defined for certain data types. For example, if your competitors should always appear in yellow, this can be stored in the DataBrowser. This readability is greatly simplified.

Rights management

To grant user groups different levels of access rights to reports, data, or segments within the data, the DataBrowser provides fine-grained role models.

On one hand, access to specific data sources can be tied to users and groups. In addition, in DataBrowser, reports could be made available to additional user groups without them being able to make changes to the reports yet still being able to analyse with the allowable filter functions.

Furthermore, restrictions are even possible within the data so that users are only enabled for certain regions, periods, or product areas. A workbook can thus be released to various departments, but everyone only sees what they are authorised to!

Data Import

Various import functions (e.g. for Excel, CSV data or REST APIs) provide the opportunity to quickly add new data without complex ETL processes.

Metadata / Caching

With the metadata manager, you can configure the metadata of the data sources. For example, set column names or functions. Predefined calculations, which are then executed at run time, are also integrated.

For large data sets, we offer an optional cache table manager, which applies pre-aggregated cache tables based on a report usage monitoring. Prompts are thereby massively accelerated at higher levels without losing detail data. The selection of the best prompt autonomously reaches the cache table manager. For the user, these processes run silently in the background. Of course, the cache tables will be updated when the base table changes an uses in-memory technologies.
